About the conference:
Cultural heritage faces an array of challenges, many of which are replicated across theworld. Whilst local circumstances vary, there are opportunities to share experiences and collaborate in finding solutions. As part of the Scottish Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology in 2017, Global Challenges in Cultural Heritage celebrates the newly formed partnership between the University of Stirling, The Palace Museum in Beijing and Historic Environment Scotland.The conference seeks to explore and share approaches to specific challenges in relation to a range of shared issues and to highlight Scotland’s place, and in particular Stirling, as an international centre for research and innovation inheritage and conservation.

- Mr Feng Naien, Deputy Director of The Palace Museum, China.
- Professor May Cassar, Director,University College London, Institute for Sustainable Heritage.
Abstract submission:
We invite proposals for panels, individual paper presentations,workshops/interactive sessions, or colloquia addressing one of the following themes:
- Assessing Global Challenges.
- Significance, Value and Meaning in Cultural Heritage.
- Conservation of Historic Fabric.
- Technology and Innovation in Heritage.
- Conservation Challenges and Opportunities.
- Visitor Management and Engagement.
These are some suggested themes - we welcome all contributors on the theme of Global Challenges in Cultural Heritage from any analytical angle and in a variety of ways.
Submit a Proposal:
If you would like to present, start by submitting an abstract by completing thepro-forma by 22 May 2017.
- 500-word abstract (individual) or 300-word summary plus 300 per paper (panel)
You will need the following: presentation type,short/long descriptions,keywords,focus, themes, and biographical information.

Get Accepted:
After we receive your presentation proposal, it moves to the evaluation step.All proposals will be reviewed two to four weeks after submission and you will receive your response by 29 May 2017.

Once your proposal is accepted, you must register before our Programme Development team can schedule your presentation.
