Application of the Workshop on 'Restoration Technology in Modern Historic Buildings'

By the end of May 15, 2009, more than one hundred candidates had applied for the workshop on “Restoration Technology in Modern Historic Buildings’. Most of them work in the relevant organizations from mainland of China, Hong Kong and Macao. After strict assessment by the panel, 28 participants have been selected.

This workshop is the first session of 5 year training program on historic buildings restoration. It will focus on the restoration of Stone Buildings and its latest technology. The workshop consists of 3 units, including “general introduction”, “case study”, “practice and communications”. As part of the program, participants will visit several typical sites both in Shanghai and Hangzhou, which will help them concrete what they learn from the lectures and the utilization of the latest restoration technology.
