From 1999 to 2000, Dr. Shao was responsible for the training of French State Architects and Urban Planners in the Ecole de Chaillot and Ecole National des Pons et Chaussees in France. From 1990 to now, Dr. Shao has worked for the investigation and the study of historical cities, towns and villages in China. “The Water Town Conservation”, one of Dr. Shao’s projects, has got the World Heritage Conservation Distinct Award of Asia-Pacific region of UNESCO in 2003. Dr. Shao was one of the authors of Ancient Town in Jiang Nan , in charge of the edit of Urban Heritage Conservation(Ideal Space, no4), and published several articles about urban planning and urban heritage conservation in professional journals.
