World Heritage Promotion Lecture for University Students in Shanghai |

On November 25, 2021, Ms. Li Hong, Program Specialist of WHITRAP Shanghai, was invited by Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) to give a lecture entitled "An Introduction to World Heritage and its International Organizations" for university students in Shanghai. The lecture was hosted by Mr. Qi Hongbo, Deputy Director of the Career Guidance Center of SISU. More than 30 students from over ten universities in Shanghai attended the online lecture, which consisted of three parts: World Heritage, introduction to WHITRAP, and employment and internship policies of relevant international organizations. Firstly, Ms. Li introduced the basic knowledge of World Heritage, including the World Heritage Convention, World Heritage management mechanism, and the classification of World Heritage. Through specific cases, Ms. Li explained the "Outstanding Universal Value" of World Heritage, including its 10 criteria, authenticity and integrity, protection and management, and other related concepts.
After that, Ms. Li introduced the priority projects of WHITRAP and shared her experiences and insights of participating in domestic and international heritage conservation activities, including the "World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism - Pilot Project in China". Finally, Ms. Li introduced the internship programs of international organizations related to World Heritage. Taking WHITRAP's internship program as an example, Ms. Li also proposed several skills for applying for an internship in international organizations and answered the questions raised by students.
