Carry out the fifth batch of "Suzhou Garden List" application and selection work:

In order to implement the spirit of the Suzhou Municipal Government’s implementation opinions on accelerating the promotion of the "Paradise Suzhou, City of a Hundred Gardens" and further improve the protection system of the "Suzhou Garden List", WHITRAP Suzhou is actively developing the fifth batch of Suzhou Gardens catalogue collection work. A total of 24 Suzhou Classical Gardens have been registered, and experts in the field of gardens, cultural relics, planning, etc. have been invited. After reviewing historical data, field investigations, and expert discussion meetings, 10 gardens were selected as the fifth batch of "Suzhou "List of Gardens" and reported to the municipal government for deliberation.

Conduct supervision inspections and research of Suzhou Classical gardens:

Supervision inspections on 108 gardens in the five districts and four counties and cities that have been included in the "Suzhou Gardens List" were conducted. The implementation of the commissioner responsible system was supervised and inspected. 108 gardens were divided into different zones. Following the requirements of Suzhou Classical Gardens Protection and Management Regulations and Suzhou Classical Gardens Management Regulations, in accordance with the three categories of heritage gardens, historical gardens, and contemporary gardens, the gardens were inspected based on various garden protection management standards. Through the inspection work, the protection management status of each garden can be recorded timely. The inspection report was filled in, and it was catalogued into the Suzhou garden protection supervision information platform for summarized analysis. The basic information of the gardens from "Suzhou Gardens List" was added, the garden plan surveying and mapping work was carried out, and the work of filling the vacancies of the 27 garden floor plans were completed. A database of historical documents of Suzhou Classical Gardens was established, and text materials relevant to the gardens was collected.
