Prof .Zhou Jian Participating in the Committee Meeting on Steering The Master Degree Programme of World Heritage at Work in France

On Sep.26th 2007, the Committee Meeting on Steering Master Degree Programme of World Heritage at Work was held in Paris, UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Many honored representatives, specialists and scholars coming from worldwide organizations and institutions in the field of heritage conservation participated in this meeting. Prof. Zhou Jian, Deputy Director of WHITR-AP (Shanghai) was also invited as a member of the Steering Committee.

The University and the Polytechnic of Turin, together with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, are collaborating in the design of this programme, which focus on the economics of World Heritage Sites, their management and valorization, and is intended to be complementary to the course of other international institutions which normally center on conservation. This programme aims to combine the two goals of conservation of local culture and protection of the natural environment on one hand and sustainable local development on the other.
