The Fourth ICCROM-CHA (Korea) Forum on National Conservation Policy was held at Tsinghua University in Beijing between December 6-9. 29 representatives from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines and Korea presented and discussed cultural heritage protection policies of their respective countries.

Professor Zhou Jian, Secretary-General of WHITRAP, attended the forum and presented on the topic “Role in the Region”. He introduced the role of WHITRAP as a Category 2 Institute under the auspices of UNESCO and the Midterm Strategy of the institute in terms of training, research, international cooperation, promotion and academic exchange, and how the institute offers capacity building and research consultation for signatories in the Asia-Pacific region.
