Workshop on “Restoration Technology in Modern Historic Buildings: Sino-Dutch Theory, Process and Practice”

From 4th to 5th July 2009, the workshop on “restoration technology in modern historic buildings: Sino-Dutch theory, process and practice” will be held in Shanghai. It is co-organized by WHITR-AP (Suzhou), WHITR-AP (Shanghai), Tongji University and WTA-International-Germany. Through lectures presented by well-known professors, case studies and sharing experiences with other professionals, the workshop aims to train the participants with the latest technology and practices in historic buildings restoration. Based on introduction to different restoration context both in China and German, the workshop will also help participants to understand technical management, design, and implementation in practice.

The workshop is open to professionals who have working experiences in the field of historic buildings restoration, including architects, structural engineers, engineers, supervisions and technical manager, WTA Chinese members, researchers, teachers or students in relative major.

This workshop is the first session of series training program on historic buildings restoration. In the following 4 years, other training course with different themes, as information collection and management, traditional technology and restoration materials, structure enhancement technology, water-proofing and energy saving technologies etc will be organized.

The working language is Chinese.
